Hassayampa River Preserve....

11/5/2015

( Writing this from Deming, NM on November 5. )
On our third day in Wickenburg the rain stopped and we went to town to check out what was available. Close to us was a SafeWay Market and on the other side of town was a Bashas Market, both good stores.  We stopped at the visitors center and picked up information on museums , parks, and restaurants.  There were lots to pick from.  The afternoon was beautiful so we drove to the outskirts of town and stopped at the Hassayampa River Preserve. We explored the desert garden with nicely identified plants.  There were three hiking/walking loops but we had to come back another day since it was close to closing time.

This looked like two butterflies, but it was only one with a red body and blue markings at the tip of it's wings.

We spent more than an hour in the garden and didn't even make it inside the exhibit building or the river loops.
And we definitely did come back.
More of Wickenburg tomorrow.
                                                            Night all.       Love,  B&D
