( Writing this on February 17, David's Birthday, from King Valley Road near Yuma Arizona. )
Last week on the 8th, we explored yet another road into KOFA. The MST&T Road (I have no idea what that stands for) is a fairly rough road going into the refuge but there are some pretty great spots here and there to camp on. We drove a half hour and picked several that would suit our needs.
The different cactus species on this road covered much more of the ground than in the area where we are camped. It is prettier on this road but it's a long way in on some rocky stretches with a trailer behind you.
At the end of the road we got out and walked for awhile and noticed the cactus babies in all the rocks and crevices.

The Teddybear Chola are covered with fruit. The fruit as well as small pieces of the branches fall off and take root. I lightly touched the fruit and it didn't move, it was firmly rooted in the rock.
