We left home to start our adventures on Thursday, May 15. Big thanks to all our family and friends who helped us get ready. Especially to Leib, Shannon and Renee for helping to clean out a seven bedroom house, no small feat.
We moved to the house in 1985 with our 3 boys Andy, Zach and Leib and share uncountable great memories with them. What a great property it was for all the family and friends get-togethers, weddings, graduations, birthdays and the ever popular pig roasts and pool parties.
Then there are all the wonderful families of the ladies and men we cared for in our senior care home. They have become life long friends. Love to all of you.
David retired from a great job at the water dept. on April 17, then worked his you know what off getting the truck and camper ready with solar power and many other alterations for long term travel. He is so talented , he's my hero. Barb retired in April also. It was hard to say goodbye to the last patient, Betty, but she is enjoying her new home which is very close to where Kim, her granddaughter lives.
Then there is so much to thank all my "friends" at the library for. To think your kids were babies when our group started to volunteer as the friends of the library and now they have graduated from college. How did we survive all those delicious bake sales?!!! Thank you all for the wonderful parting gifts. Every time I take a shower I think of you. Thanks so much to everyone on the board, what better friends could a person ask for when they are willing to be seen in public with me when I had no teeth. Whew, that was asking a lot.
Most of all, I thank my beautiful Mother, for encouraging us to go on this long adventure that is so far away from her and not letting us feel guilty about leaving. This also goes for our children and grand-children who let us know through all the planning how happy they were that we could do such an exciting change in our life.
I know this is really long, but I wanted to say this before I started the story of our travels.
Like we keep saying, we miss you all, but not enough to not go! So let the fun begin!!!
